About Alex Vargas

Alex Vargas is a Costa Rican living in Thailand...
Alex was a bird guide for 20 seasons in Latin America and the Caribbean Islands, specializing in Costa Rica, the richest country with more species per square meter... a paradise hosting 4% of the world's biodiversity. Today Alex lives with his Costa Rican wife and his lovely daughter in another jewel of nature and birding: Thailand, where he spends a good part of his life chasing amazing and exotic birds, this time with a camera in hand... Bird-photography has become his big passion and today he has a growing gallery with birds from several hotspots of the world. Since he started seriously into bird-photo, has been widely published in books and magazines from around the globe.
