Featured Bird Blogger of the Week
Howdee all,
This is the second week of Featured Bird Blogger of the Week. I hope you all enjoyed Kelly Riccetti’s Red and the Peanut Blog that I featured last week. This week I am happy to introduce you to another Bird Blogger. I call him Dude of the Birds from his twitter name @BirdingDude . If you are on twitter, make sure you follow the Dude. Andrew spends allot of his time volunteering and birding in the Jamaica Bay Wildlife refugee and other areas in New York. If there is a rare bird in the area, you can bet Andrew will be there. He is a keen birder, naturalist and many of the birders on twitter seek his advice for bird ID. When Andrew is not out stalking the birds around New York City, or volunteering for conservation and birding organizations you might find him in his own yard where he has created a backyard habitat to attract birds to his area of the city. His love and enthusiasm for birds and nature is contagious…Go to his blog and see for yourself!
I am sure you will have fun following Andrews birding adventures and photos at Birding Dude.
An IT professional, I am a beginning naturalist, who through my work of building a backyard habitat for birds and butterflies have taken up observing birds, insects, reptiles and plants. In addition to my own Horticultural work, I do volunteer work with a number of organizations including the NYC Audubon Society, the American Littoral Society NE Chapter and the National Park Service, Jamaica Bay Wildlife Refuge, which has helped my growth as a naturalist.

…Thanks, Dawn! I’ve never been to Birding Dude’s blog. I just popped over and saw the beautiful photos of the hummer…and the Merlin on a Stick! Loved them…looks like you found another bird blog for me to follow!
Your welcome Kelly, always happy to contribute to someone else’s “Blogaholic” addiction. 🙂
Andrew is a most wonderful birder to feature on Bird Blogger of the Week! I so enjoy his fabulous blog and wonderful photos. It’s always a treat to view his posts. A great blog to visit often.
Great post on Andrew! I admire him so much for his bird knowledge and for all of the volunteer work he does. A true role model for us all!!
Hi Dawn, there are so many other BETTER birders and bloggers out there that it was quite a surprise to learn that I had been chosen. I am very humbled and grateful. Thank you so much for your kindness. Hopefully, I could continue to contribute to the nature community and help us grow exponentially.
